The electrical work was carried out under the direction of Sir Charles Siemens. Wooden launder feeds water to discharge down near-vertical pipes and turbines which are contained in the spherical iron housings to discharge to waste in the stream below. The power-take-off to is via the two vertical shafts and bevel gearing. The two turbines each produce 50 hp at 225 rpm with a working head of water of 24 ft.
