EDITORS COMMENTS

The Coorg and Mysore Rifles was a volunteer unit established in southern India on November 21,1884, with its headquarters in Mercara (Madikeri). The striking silver plate helmet badge features the head of a buffalo with majestic horns positioned above a scroll displaying the name of the unit. This auxiliary unit played an essential role in maintaining peace and security during its active years.
