Durch eine runde vergrossernde Glasscheibe konnte man die an der Ruckwand des Kastens befindlichen Bilder betrachten, die mit Hilfe einer Kurbel bewegt werden konnten und das rollende Filmband unserer Vorfahren darstellten. Besonders auf Jahrmarkten war der Guckkasten stets gern gesehen. Translation: Peep Box Man. The viewing box can be described as the primitive forerunner of our cinema. Through a round enlarging pane of glass one could look at the pictures on the back wall of the box, which could be moved with the help of a crank and represented the rolling film of our ancestors.
