Building designed by Jean Nicolas Servandoni for the fireworks display in St Jamess Park celebrating the Peace of Aix-la-Chapelle which ended the War of Austrian Succession (1740-48) and for which George Frideric Handel composed the music. The display was not successful the weather was rainy and in the middle of the show the right pavilion caught fire.
