This image showcases Denshanger Church, completed in 1854, located in the quaint village of Passenham, Peterborough, England. The newly built Church of the Holy Trinity is a fine example of Early English design, boasting a striking gable turret at its western end. The turret, supported by massive buttress abutments, houses three bells, two positioned below and one above. The east window, a triple lancet, boasts excellent proportions and adds to the church's grandeur. The church's exterior is primarily constructed from the local stone, with Bath stone used for the dressings. The design of this architectural masterpiece is the work of renowned architect Benjamin Ferrey, while the construction was overseen by local contractor Mr. Hailey of Stony Stratford. This engraving, published in the Illustrated London News in 1854, offers a glimpse into the Victorian Gothic and Neo-Gothic architectural revival that swept through Britain during the 19th century.
