This print takes us back to the ancient city of Koom-Ombos in Egypt, circa 1843. Renowned artist George Moore skillfully captures the grandeur and architectural marvels of this historical site. The temple depicted here was initially constructed by Ptolemy VI Philometer around 191-145 BC and later expanded upon by his successors, most notably Ptolemy XIII during his reign from 62-47 BC. The image showcases the inner and outer hypostyle halls that were added to the temple during Ptolemy XIII's time. These halls are adorned with magnificent columns, each telling a story of Hellenistic influence blended with traditional Egyptian artistry.
