Scott and his team, consisting of Lieutenant Edward Evans, Dr. Edward Wilson, and Petty Officer Tom Crean, had set out from their base camp at Cape Evans on November 1st, determined to be the first humans to reach the geographic South Pole. Their journey had been fraught with challenges, including treacherous ice conditions, extreme weather, and dwindling supplies. As the days passed, the explorers made slow progress, battling against the harsh Antarctic conditions. The world watched with bated breath as they neared their goal, with daily dispatches from the team providing updates on their progress. However, unbeknownst to the world, a different team had already reached the South Pole.
