Leander and Hero: A Timeless Tale of Love and Devotion from Ancient Greek Mythology This evocative image depicts the legendary tale of Leander and Hero, two figures deeply entwined in the ancient Greek mythology of love and devotion. Leander, a young man from Abydos, was enamored with Hero, a beautiful priestess of Aphrodite, the goddess of love, who resided in Sestos on the opposite shore of the Hellespont.
