EDITORS COMMENTS
Beagle-Auster A.61 Terrier G-ARTM: A Historic Aviation Icon at White Waltham This photograph showcases the Beagle-Auster A.61 Terrier G-ARTM, which was once a converted Auster T.7 WE536 (msn 3723), at White Waltham Airfield in 1962. The Auster T.7, registered on March 7, 1950, underwent an impressive transformation into the Beagle-Auster A.61 Terrier, and was given a new registration number on October 9, 1961. The Beagle-Auster A.61 Terrier, a versatile and agile aircraft, was a popular choice for both private and recreational use during the 1960s. G-ARTM, with its distinctive Beagle livery, is seen here gracefully parked at White Waltham Airfield. Unfortunately, the Beagle-Auster A.61 Terrier G-ARTM's aviation journey came to an end on May 28, 1970, when it was written off. Despite this, the aircraft continues to hold a significant place in aviation history and remains a cherished memory for many. Today, G-ARTM, the former Auster T.7 WE536, is stored at Thorney Carr Farm, a testament to its rich history and the enduring allure of vintage aviation.
