Near to Buckingham Palace is the Victoria Palace Theatre, which was opened in 1911 by the late Sir Alfred Butt, MP after big rebuilding in the area. Prior to this the theatre was known as the Royal Standard Music Hall and dates back to 1830. In the Royal Standard days it was on eof the first music halls to get a London County Council Music and Dancing Licence.
For many years the famous Crazy Gang was housed at the Victoria Palace which faces Victoria Railway Station.
