One of a set of twelve hand-coloured astronomical prints with an explanatory card. These are contained in a brown striped portfolio with blue marbled paper along the spine, embossed with gold lettering on the front, reading Astronomical Diagrams. Created by James Reynolds, this print is part of a set of twelve hand-colored prints that were designed to educate and inspire audiences about the wonders of the universe.
In this particular piece, we see a beautifully detailed depiction of the central sun surrounded by various celestial bodies.
