Thomas Webster, painter, 1878. In 1825 Webster exhibited Rebels shooting a Prisoner, the first painting of schoolboy life by which he won his reputation. In 1828 he exhibited The Gunpowder Plot at the Royal Academy, and in 1829 The Prisoner and A Foraging Party aroused at the British Institution.
