On the left stands the Hanoverian Monument, a poignant reminder of the Kings German Legion, a British military unit established by King George III in 1803. In the center looms the majestic Lions Mound, marking the spot where William II of Netherlands was struck down from his horse by a musket ball during this fateful battle.
