The setting is Downey, a small village located in County Kildare, Ireland, where Stanford spent many summers composing and teaching. Stanford was a prolific composer, known for his contributions to the classical music world, particularly in the field of choral music. He studied at the Royal Academy of Music in London and later became a professor of music at Trinity College Dublin.
