Francoise d Amboise, Duchess of Brittany, c1840. Portrait of the Blessed Francoise d Amboise, duchess of Brittany (1427-1485). She wears a tiara of stars, an armorial robe with blazons of Bourbon at left: azure, gold fleurs de lys, and of her family at right: azure dolphin on gold field, argent dolphin on red field. Francoise was married to Duke Pierre II of Brittany, and after his death she founded the first monastery of the Carmelites in France, in 1463. She became a nun in 1463. (The birth date given on the engraving - Born 1420 - may be incorrect)
