EDITORS COMMENTS
"This intriguing artifact offers a glimpse into the past, showcasing a perforated receipt and stub for typewriting charges aboard the legendary RMS Titanic. The receipt, unnumbered and ex-Onslows, measures 8 inches by 3 inches, bearing the distinctive logo of the White Star Line's luxurious ocean liner. The perforations suggest that the document was intended to be easily detached and distributed, possibly for billing or record-keeping purposes. The Titanic, the largest and most opulent ship of its time, set sail on her maiden voyage from Southampton to New York City on April 10, 1912. The vessel was equipped with the latest technology and amenities, including a typing room where passengers could have their correspondence typed and mailed. This receipt and stub serve as a reminder of the ship's first-class amenities and the level of service provided to its esteemed passengers. The RMS Titanic tragically struck an iceberg on April 14, 1912, leading to one of the most infamous maritime disasters in history. This unique piece of Titanic memorabilia offers a tangible connection to the ship and the passengers who sailed on her, providing a poignant reminder of the opulence and elegance of a bygone era in transportation history." Henry Aldridge & Son Ltd. is proud to offer this rare and fascinating piece of Titanic history from their extensive collection of historical documents and memorabilia. Collectors and history enthusiasts alike will appreciate the significance and rarity of this perforated receipt and stub for typewriting charges from the ill-fated RMS Titanic.
