John reads on. Sales representative John Stonehouse just wants to read his Sunday paper. So he sat himself down on a bench in Russell Square and started to browse. With characteristic British reserve John did not allow himself to be distracted when this pretty young girl came and sat beside him. He did not like to be so rude to actually look at her. But there certainly did seem to be something a bit odd about the dog she had with her. And whats more the wretched creature seemed determined to clamber all over him. Still, one must be British about these things - the girl, 22 year old Adrienne Lawrence, happened to have a lion cub with her. The lion club, six month old Muke, was taking a day off from his home at the Woburn Animal Kingdom in Bedfordshire. 30th March 1971
