Sir Barnes Wallis, airship designer and aeronautical engineer, died in 1979 aged 92. He turned his attention to bombing in general, and bombs in particular, culminating in the famous bombs (bouncing bombs) dropped against the Mohne, Eder and Sorpe dams.
