However, his power reached its peak until 1637 when he was unceremoniously dismissed from the court. The reason for his dismissal was an insult directed towards Archbishop Laud, a powerful figure in the English church, who took offense to Archie's words. Despite the circumstances of his departure, Archie's legacy as a skilled jester lived on.
