In this photograph, we find the Hawker Siddeley Buccaneer S.2B XW988 (msn B3-3-72) gracefully parked at the Royal Aircraft Establishment (RAE) in Boscombe Down during the 1970s-1980s. This particular Buccaneer was one of three S.2Bs built specifically for the RAE for extensive weapons and systems trials. The Hawker Siddeley Buccaneer, a British twin-engined, variable-geometry strike-bomber, was a formidable aircraft during its time.
