In this thrilling print from the Motor Racing Legends event at Silverstone Grand Prix Motor Circuit in October 2022, we find ourselves in the midst of the HRDC 'Gerry Marshall' Trophy Series race. This forty-five minute, two-driver event brought together over thirty cars on the grid, each representing pre-1980's Touring Cars. The grid was split into four classes: Drum Braked, Group 1 Touring Cars, Group 1½ Touring Cars, and a Willhire class for Invited Production Touring Cars. At the heart of the action, we see racing drivers Myles Poulton and Adam Christodoulou manning the Triumph Dolomite Sprint. The team, clad in their racing overalls, are focused and determined as they prepare for the next stint of the race. Nearby, Jerry Bailey stands by the Rover SD1, ready to take over the driving duties. The atmosphere is electric as the cars roar to life, revving their engines in anticipation of the race. The crowd cheers and claps as the cars speed around the circuit, their tires screeching on the asphalt. The race is a testament to the rich history of Group 1 Touring Cars and tin tops, with their powerful engines and nimble handling providing a spectacle that is both entertaining and exhilarating.
