Created in France during the Gothic period, the page is a masterpiece of manuscript illumination, with intricate gouache on parchment decorating every inch of the page. At the center of the image, we see a group of knights, including members of both the Order of the Temple and the Order of Hospitallers, preparing for departure on a crusade.
