The Prince of Wales landing at the town of New Goa, from a sketch by an officer of the Serapis, 1876....the Prince embarked with his suite on board the May Frere, the Governor of Bombay's yacht, and steamed up to the town of New Goa. His Excellency the Governor-General, with his suite, came on board, and immediately afterwards the Prince landed with him in the Governor's state-barge, the Serapis steam-barge, with the remainder of the suite, following...The building on the left is Government House'. Between October 1875 and May 1876, the future King Edward VII visited more than 21 towns and cities across parts of modern-day India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Nepal.
