"Kuan Yin: The Compassionate Goddess of Mercy" Kuan Yin, also known as Guanyin, is a revered figure in Buddhist mythology and art. This ancient deity is often depicted as the Nine-Lotus Bodhisattva, emanating grace and serenity. Created in 1593 by an unknown artist, this masterpiece captures the essence of Kuan Yin's divine presence. One can witness the magnificence of Kuanyin at the Temple Garden in Repulse Bay, Hong Kong. Standing tall amidst lush surroundings, this statue embodies compassion and mercy that she bestows upon her devotees. Another remarkable portrayal can be found at the Kek Lok Si Temple on Penang Island. Crafted with intricate details, this statue showcases her benevolence towards all living beings. It symbolizes her ability to bring peace and enlightenment to those who seek it. The Universal Gateway painting from Chapter 25 of the Lotus Sutra dates back to 1257 and was created by Sugawara Mitsushige. In "White-Robed Kannon" by Kawanabe Kyosai from around 1887, we witness another stunning representation radiating purity and compassion through her flowing white robes. "The Buddhist Triad, " crafted in 1922 by an unknown artist, portrays three deities including Guanyin surrounded by celestial splendor—an embodiment of wisdom and infinite love for humanity. Chinese Art from the 10th century reveals Guanyin guiding a soul—a poignant reminder that she offers solace even beyond death itself.
