The General is a handsome and most intelligent man, about thirty-two years of age, very dark, with long jet-black hair. He is the first Hindoo of high cast that has visited this country. He is considered one of the foremost men in India, possesses great power and influence in Northern Hindostan, and has rendered great services to the East India Company...His Excellency wears a rich Oriental costume, profusely wrought in gold, and glittering with diamonds, pearls, and precious stones, stated to be worth £150, 000 sterling.
