EDITORS COMMENTS
This print showcases the grandeur of Ely Cathedral, located in Cambridgeshire, England. Known as the ship of the Fens due to its distinctive shape, this magnificent structure has stood tall since its construction began in 1083 under Abbot Simeon. A towering tree stands gracefully beside the cathedral, adding a touch of serenity to the scene. The vibrant colors bring life to every intricate detail of this medieval masterpiece. This print is part of Hutchinson's Britain Beautiful collection from volume I (1924-1926), edited by Walter Hutchinson himself. It serves as a testament to British heritage and showcases FC Varley's talent for capturing architectural marvels through his lens.
