Portrait of General Pyotr Chicherin, 1814. Pyotr Aleksandrovich Chicherin (1788-1849) commanded a regiment of dragoons during the campaign against Napoleons invasion of Russia. He later fought in the Russo-Turkish War of 1828-1829 and in Poland in 1831. In 1834 he was promoted to General of the Cavalry. Found in the collection of The Hermitage, St Petersburg
