The Varsity, a versatile twin-engine turboprop transport aircraft, was manufactured by Vickers-Armstrongs between 1948 and 1958. This particular aircraft, WF425, had an illustrious career with the Meteorological Research Flight before it found its final resting place at the museum. The Varsity, with its distinctive hump-backed design, was a mainstay of the Royal Air Force's transport fleet for several decades.
