EDITORS COMMENTS
This print takes us back to a summer night in 1935, where the floodlit Caernarfon Castle stands proudly against the dark sky. Located in Gwynedd, Wales, this medieval stone structure exudes an air of mystery and grandeur. The castle's majestic silhouette is beautifully illuminated by the floodlights, casting a soft glow on its ancient walls. The intricate details of its Edwardian architecture are brought to life as they contrast with the surrounding darkness. This image captures both the historical significance and architectural beauty of Caernarfon Castle. In addition to showcasing this magnificent fortress, the photograph also offers glimpses into everyday life during that era. A road can be seen leading up to the castle, lined with cars from the 1930s - a reminder of how transport has evolved over time. Caernarfon itself is depicted as a royal town steeped in history and tradition. Its castle ditch serves as a protective barrier around this regal landmark, adding another layer of intrigue to an already enchanting scene. As we gaze upon this snapshot from nearly nine decades ago, we are transported back in time to witness firsthand the timeless allure of Caernarfon Castle at nightfall. It serves as a testament not only to Welsh heritage but also reminds us of our own connection with history and architecture that withstands centuries.
