These historic buildings were constructed around 1900 on the grounds of a former quarry and have housed numerous retailers throughout the years. In this snapshot, we catch a glimpse of Clays, one of Mexborough's beloved shops at that time. The shop window displays an array of household items including prams, white goods, and children's bicycles. The Montague Buildings hold great significance as they represent the changing face of retail over the decades.
