This stunning handcoloured copperplate engraving showcases the awe-inspiring Egyptian architecture of the temples of Dendera and Karnak, located in Luxor. The intricately detailed bas-reliefs adorning the temples are a testament to the ancient Egyptians' mastery of sculpture and their deep reverence for their gods. At the temple of Dendera, dedicated to the goddess Hathor, we see a bas-relief of Tentyra, a form of Hathor, depicted as a woman with the horns of a cow and the solar disk between them.
