Planting Fields" William Robertson Coe House, located at 1395 Planting Fields Road in Oyster Bay, New York, is a stunning example of early 20th century American estate architecture. Captured in this photograph taken in 1926, the house was designed by Walker & Gillette between 1918 and 1921. The surrounding landscape was designed by James Frederick Dawson of the Olmsted Brothers firm, with additional contributions from Andrew Robeson Sargent and Guy Lowell for the tea house garden and tea house, which were completed in 1914-1916. The estate, which is now a historic site and arboretum, is a testament to the grandeur and elegance of the American country estate during the 1910s and 1920s. The house is framed by lush, colorful gardens filled with vibrant flowers, flower beds, and pots. The reflecting pool adds to the serene and picturesque setting. The landscape design was executed by Lewis & Valentine, a New York-based company. James Frederick Dawson, of the renowned Olmsted Brothers firm, was responsible for the overall design of the estate's landscape.
