Positioned just below the center are two radiant stars, Alpha Centauri and Beta Centauri. To their right, we witness the captivating formation of the Southern Cross, also known as Crux Australis, composed of four dazzling stars. Rigil Kent, an alternate name for Alpha Centauri, is a triple star system where its two brightest components create a mesmerizing yellow-orange visual binary. Meanwhile, Beta Centauri or Hadar shines from afar at an awe-inspiring distance of 424 light years away from us. This extraordinary photograph was taken in Pauhatanui, New Zealand and showcases North at its topmost position. The image was captured using a 50mm lens with an aperture setting of f/2 during a remarkable 20-second exposure time. Fujichrome 1600 +2 film played its part in preserving this breathtaking moment for eternity.
