EDITORS COMMENTS
This photograph showcases the Cessna NOA-37B Dragonfly military aircraft, specifically model 70-1310 (MSN 43325), which once proudly served in the United States Air Force. Circa 1990, this Dragonfly was stationed at Edwards Air Force Base in California. The Cessna NOA-37B Dragonfly, a versatile and agile aircraft, was primarily used for various training missions, including navigation, instrument, and formation flying. Unfortunately, on August 16, 1994, this very aircraft met an unfortunate end near Edwards Air Force Base. An uncontrollable spin was caused by an asymmetric fuel load, resulting in a tragic incident for the US Air Force. Despite its untimely demise, this image encapsulates the beauty and power of the Cessna NOA-37B Dragonfly in its prime. The Dragonfly, a transport aircraft, was a valuable asset to the US military, offering a unique combination of maneuverability, speed, and versatility. Its sleek design, with its distinctive twin-boom configuration and high-wing layout, made it a distinctive addition to the skies above military bases. This photograph serves as a poignant reminder of the aircraft's history and the important role it played in the US Air Force's training programs.
