The cast of The Ghost Train, a production by the expressive arts faculty of Fowey Community School, gather on the station waiting room set. The play, written in 1923 by actor playwright Arnold Ridley who in the 1960s played Private Godfrey in TV show Dads Army, centres around a group of people stranded at a station overnight. . In this print from April 1992, we are transported back to a momentous evening at Fowey Community School's expressive arts faculty. The cast of "The Ghost Train" a play written by the talented actor-playwright Arnold Ridley in 1923, has gathered on the meticulously crafted waiting room set. Radiating with youthful enthusiasm and undeniable talent, the cast members stand shoulder to shoulder in their elegant attire – hats perched proudly atop heads adorned with scarves and suits impeccably tailored. Each individual brings their own unique flair to the scene as they prepare to transport audiences into a world of mystery and suspense. From left to right, we see James Mason, Alvin Strongman, Simon Thoms, Jo Skull, Liam Rabey, Mark Gascoigne, Emma Austen, Louise Buckle, James Allardice Ross O'Connor Travis Hill and Theone Rashleigh - each embodying their characters' essence with remarkable dedication. Under the masterful direction of David Hendry – head of faculty – these young performers have honed their skills through countless rehearsals. Their commitment shines through every gesture captured by photographer Jonathan Barker. This snapshot serves as a testament not only to the exceptional talent nurtured within Fowey Community School but also pays homage to Arnold Ridley's timeless creation.
