EDITORS COMMENTS
This print captures a dramatic moment during the 1990 Belgian Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium. Nigel Mansell, driving the Ferrari 641, finds himself in an unfortunate situation as he is hit from behind by Nelson Piquet on the approach to La Source Hairpin. The impact of this collision sets off a chain reaction of events that would shape the outcome of the race. Despite suffering damage to his car, Mansell displays remarkable resilience and determination by taking Alain Prost's spare car for both the second and third starts. However, luck was not on his side as he struggles with bad oversteer throughout the race, ultimately leading to his exit. Meanwhile, amidst all the chaos on track, Derek Warwick in his Lotus 102 Lamborghini becomes another victim when he is struck by teammate Donnelly's flying bodywork.
