Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium: Nigel Mansell was hit from behind by Nelson Piquet on the approach to La Source Hairpin
1990 Belgian Grand Prix.
Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium.
24-26 August 1990.
Nigel Mansell (Ferrari 641) was hit from behind by Nelson Piquet on the approach to La Source Hairpin. He took Prosts spare car for the second and third starts but exited the race suffering with bad oversteer. Derek Warwick (Lotus 102 Lamborghini) was also hit by teammate Donnelly (thats his bodywork flying). He took the spare and finished in 11th position.
