Ikushima Shingoro, a humble actor, and Lady Ejima, a noblewoman, could only meet in secret, often exchanging glances from their respective castles. Their love story, filled with longing and desire, is immortalized in this stunning woodblock print. This masterpiece, with its rich colors and intricate details, is a testament to the artistic heritage of Japan during the Meiji Era.
