The castle may be the chateau at Pierrefonds, or that at Dourdan in northern France which became the property of Jean de Berry in 1385. A page from the " Tres Riches Heures du Duc de Berry", a book of hours produced for Jean, Duc de Berry and commissioned from the Limbourg brothers. Made between c1412 and 1489, and regarded as one of the finest examples of European manuscript illumination, it is held at the Musee Conde, Chantilly, France. Published in " Verve - No. 7, Vol. II".
